Some steps for the beginner Guitar Player
I believe that many people are fond of the vibe of music nowadays, and playing the guitar might be a good choice since a guitar does not take up spaces. The most important thing is that it is portable. For beginners; however, it might be a little bit hard to start alone without previous preparations. There are some steps one can follow when learning the guitar.
In the beginning, there are many learning resources we can refer to. Just like learning any other things, we feel awfully anxious because we barely know anything about it. For instance, we may not know the right posture to hold the guitar. As a result, referring to some resources that direct us in the right way helps us to draw a clear picture on playing the guitar.
After that, we need to practice with passion every day. As an old saying goes, “ Rome was not built in a day.” Playing the guitar proficiently requires the fluency and accuracy of our finger movement, which can only be achieved by persistent drill. Even if we are just playing it in our leisure time, it also needs practices for doing a single chord precisely.
Another important thing is that it is normal feeling uncomfortable and painful when pressing our fingers on the strings because typically the pain would last until the calluses develop on our fingertips. Once the calluses have developed, the discomfort would be hugely relieved.
Lastly, knowing some basic knowledge of music theory would be of great help. After practicing those chords like Am, C, G for a while, you might wonder if there is any rule on how those chords are formed because it seems like all those practices are leading you to memorize how a certain chord is played on the guitar and to associate those chords with how your fingers should be placed on the tab. Thus, this is why knowing music theory is needed. If you know basic music theory like how a chord is formed, you can spontaneously know where my fingers should be placed without referencing or memorizing those so-called “patterns.”
Each step is important for beginners. Refer to some resources of instructions on how to play the guitar. Practice persistently even if it feels painful to press fingers on the strings. Get a grip of music theory. All these processes result in our guitar proficiency. Learning the guitar step by step guarantees a good experience and efficiency. Remember that perseverance is required if you want to reach a higher level. Making mistakes while you practice is acceptable. Even if the result might take a long time to accomplish, you still learn something valuable during the process.
