Reflection 2
For the second semester
Benefits
To be honest, I can't tell you how much I've learned from this project. From the beginning, now I try to recall my memory, I guess I barely know anything about WIX, and I am pretty sure I had been wondering for quite some time what's the purpose of doing this. Now that a year has passed, I can not say that I have solid idea about what this is going to benefit me in the future, but I can assure you that none of your work is going to go in vain after the end of this course. It is not about the end; on the contrary, it's about the process. Once again this experience gives me another solid example of that famous motto, though platitude, "Derive definition out of the process rather than from the end."
Since creating and completing a Wix e-portfolio requires more than just academic knowledge, for most of the time it demands my patience, sense of aesthetics, and my ability to solve non-academic problems. Beyond that, there is one thing that has significantly changed, which is my "mindset." As a student, though I don't think I should still see myself as a student so that I can dodge some responsibility using student as an excuse, it is not unusual that sometimes we may complain about the point of doing assignments that is not pertinent to academy. We may feel inexorably wanting to quit, to complain, or even to dodge the responsibility. However, when I really listen to myself, trying not to listen to those whining voices in my head, and I pick up the responsibility, I found out that there is just something you can never learn from class. I finally started to realize that there is more to learn when I make up you mind to hold myself accountable. For me, I think this is the sweetest fruit of this whole year's project of creating my own Wix site, and that is the changing of mindset.
Writing journals to record and reflect on my life is, at present time, the most useful way for me to either release the stress on my shoulder, or to look back and see what I've been doing. Although not every time, but I believe that some time we may really hope that there are people who can take a look on our journals and share their thoughts with us. Through other people's opinions, we may gain another point of view and try to see things in a different way. And it doesn't necessarily have to be viewpoint-changing that kind of benefits. Sometimes it is enough just knowing that there are other people who are actually looking my journals, trying to see what's recently been going on with me.
I will definitely continue to us Wix, not only because it adds various spices on my life, but it actually may be an amazing weapon for me. Some day in the future, I may need to promote myself for any reason, and Wix is going to be of vital help at which I can grasp.
